UTOPIAN GALAXY :)

The space reminded me of a solar system somehow, with the multiple sun bottles :)

As an extension to the installation, i wanted to test the effects of having plastic pieces installed and hung up in the space. I decided to create some organic rocks that resembles other worldly matters.

The bags were created using the similar technique to the mull cubes, however i decided to improvise it little and see what happens.

Wanting to break away from the flat surfaces and rigid form, i rolled the bags into a tight roll and applied heat straightaway to the bags. The results were astonishing. Despite no compression, the bags gelled so well together and as the heat peels through the bags, it reveals the layer of colours beneath it.

The only issue had with the installation was that, the black was too strong a colour it seems, Althought it gave the sense of being consumed. The colourful rocks were also consumed in the process. The colours was what got me pretty excited about the project. And i did not want the background to affect the focus.
