While aiming to promote the awareness of a serious ecological problem, artist have been using society's non biodegradable plastic cast-offs for over four decades now. She washes and stores them by color. When a color imposes itself, she goes to work listening to what it has to tell her, and show you what it said through descriptive scenarios of such themes as unity, animal rights, acid rain, threat of nuclear devastation, psychology, history, etc.

Artist also use acrylic boxes to display these interpretations which can also be installations. She does not paint the objects as she prefers playing with the natural hues and gradations of a colour and each one suggests a world of it's own.

Boulay also finds a not using glue a great challenge for her to chance upon meaningful juxtapositions of the objects, as though they were predestined to interlock. (sometimes using plastic covered wire to permanently secure the objects).

Serendipity II, 1991, Recycled plastic and found object sclpture

Boulay's colourful sorted plastic sculpture that uses no glue at all is really inspiring. Not only does the artist plan the colours. She also composites the items according to their forms.
